The Padgett House, Inc.

Welcome! Thank you for visiting our site. We hope it provides an idea of our background, beliefs, and goals. We appreciate your interest in our program.

                                    The Padgett House, Inc

The Padgett House, Inc. is a 501 c (3) non-profit organization founded in 2008 by descendants of Emma Padgett.  Our mission is to provide services to low-income families who have suffered domestic violence, while providing supplemental services to address drug and alcohol addiction as needed.

                                              Our Objectives

The Padgett House, Inc. will provide a loving and secure environment, supporting women and their children as they work through the difficult issues of violence and addiction.

                                                  Our Beliefs

 The Padgett House believes in:

  • The idea that all people come through our doors with unlimited capabilities.
  • The importance of allowing all people opportunities to reach their fullest potential.
  • Our ability to foster positive interaction and relationships among staff, children, parents, and the community
  • Our commitment to exemplifying respect, basic values, and manners in order to support the individuals we serve in strengthening their ability to respect themselves, their peers, and the community.
  • Our program and its ability to touch the lives of our clients, granting them a solid foundation for their future.
  • Cooperative efforts, through which we will achieve important organizational goals that contribute to the well-being of our community.

                                           Immediate Goals

The Padgett House is scheduled to open the doors of our NEW Transitional Home in March 1, 2010

We wish to extend a heartfelt THANK YOU to all of the volunteers, members, and corporate sponsors who contributed to this success.

                                                Future Goals

The Padgett House is working towards opening both a 24-Hour Child Care Center and an After-School Program.

The 24-Hour Child Care Center will house children of incarcerated parents on a short-term basis. Acceptance into this program will depend on the severity of the parent's offense and the degree to which they are incapable of properly caring for their children.

The After-School Program will provide children in the community with a second place to call home where both individual and group counseling will be offered alongside a wide range of enriching activities.
